3-Year-Old Boy Struck On Route 40, Flown To A.I. DuPont

Wilmington Manor – Last evening, at approximately 8:45, New Castle County Paramedics and personnel from the Wilmington Manor Fire Company were dispatched to the 200 block of South DuPont Highway, for a pedestrian struck, according to Paramedic Senior Corporal David J. McKinney, Jr.

McKinney said arriving County Paramedics found the patient in the care of Emergency Medical Technicians from the Wilmington Manor Fire Company.

The patient, a 3-year-old male, was struck by a vehicle in a parking lot. The patient was treated on scene for injuries to the chest, arm and neck. The patient was transported to the Emergency Department at AI DuPont Hospital for Children on board Delaware State Police Trooper 4 with a New Castle County Paramedic accompanying. The patient was in serious condition at the time of transport.
