Authorities Update Middletown Crash That Sent Two To The Hospital, One By Air

Middletown – Last evening, at approximately 7:30, New Castle County Paramedics and personnel from the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown and Townsend Fire Company were dispatched to the intersection of Summit Bridge Road and Old School House Road, for a motor vehicle crash with entrapment.

Arriving County Paramedics found a multi-vehicle crash with two patients. The patient was trapped in the wreckage of a small vehicle and extrication was being performed by fire department personnel on scene. The patient was extricated from the wreckage in approximately 14 minutes. The patient, a 37-year-old female, was evaluated on scene for injuries to her face, neck, back and leg pain.

She was transported to the Emergency Department at Christiana Hospital on board Delaware State Police Trooper 4, in stable condition. One other patient was transported to the hospital for evaluation on board an ambulance from the Volunteer Hose Company.

The Delaware State Police were on scene and are investigating the crash.
