Man Wanted For Parole Violation Struck By Wilmington Police Car After Fleeing

Wilmington – On Friday, 27 April 2018 at 2:52, Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 500 block of N. Broom Street. During the traffic stop the individual provided officers with a false name, according to police..

Officials said when officers went to confirm his identity, he exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers pursued the individual and as the individual entered the 1400 block of W. 5th Street, he crossed the path of a an assisting police vehicle and was struck.

He was taken into custody and treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics. He was then transported to Christiana Hospital via ambulance where he is listed in stable condition.

The individual was identified as Devante Lloyd, 8-27-92, a fugitive out of Pennsylvania for violation of parole, according to police.
