Police: Man With A Knife Chases Woman After Falling In The Toilet

The Dover Police Department arrested 63-year-old Frederick Sylvester on several charges stemming from an incident that occurred at the D.A.R.T. Bus Transfer Station on Wednesday night, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.

Hoffman said at approximately 8:15 pm, a 45-year-old female and a female friend helped Sylvester up to his feet after finding him laying on the ground halfway inside of a portable restroom at the bus station.

A short time after helping Sylvester, he claimed the 45-year-old woman tried to rob him and began chasing her with a knife in his hand and threatening to stab her, said Hoffman.

Police arrived on scene and took Sylvester into custody without incident and located the knife, as well as 5 grams of marijuana in his personal belongings, Hoffman added.

Sylvester was committed to JTVCC on $14,700 secured bond on the following charges:
-Possession of Deadly Weapon During Commission of Felony
-Aggravated Menacing
-Possession of Deadly Weapon by Person Prohibited
-Disorderly Conduct
-Possession of Marijuana
-Terroristic Threatening
-Public Inoxication
