New Castle – New Castle County Police arrested 18-year-old Lquan Reddon for breaking into multiple area residences, according to M/Cpl. Michel Eckerd.
Eckerd said Wednesday, April 17, New Castle County Police were dispatched to the unit block of Birkshire Road, in the community of Oakmont for a report of a man climbing into the window of a residence.
As officers from the New Castle County Police Mobile Enforcement Team and New Castle County Patrol Officers approached the residence they observed a male subject run out of the back door of the residence, said Eckerd. After a brief foot chase, the officers were able to apprehend the subject and later identified him as 18-year-old Lquan Redden.
While being taken into custody, Lquan Redden was found to be in possession of a handgun (later discovered to be stolen) as well as crack cocaine, according to Eckerd.
Lquan Redden was then transported back to New Castle County Police Headquarters where detectives were able to charge him with residential break-ins in the communities of Oakmont, Mayview Manor, Garfield Park and Holloway Terrace, Eckerd said.
Lquan Redden was charged with seven counts of Burglary to a Dwelling (felony), one count Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, one count Possession of a Stolen Firearm (felony), one count Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (felony), one count of Theft of Prescription Drugs (felony) , two counts of Felony Theft, one count of Resisting Arrest (misdemeanor), seven counts of Theft (misdemeanor), two counts of Criminal Mischief (misdemeanor), and one count of Possession of Crack Cocaine (misdemeanor).
Lquan Redden was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and is currently being held at Howard Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $72,000 cash-only bail.
