Police: Driver Allegedly Involved In Pursuit Arrested Next Day

On 05.21.2018 Milford Police arrested a Milford man following a vehicle pursuit that was initiated on Northwest Front Street (SR 14), according to Sgt. Robert Masten.

Masten said On 05.20.2018 at approximately 10:50 pm, an officer on patrol in the area of Northwest Front Street and Mill Street attempted to stop a Ford F150.

The operator of the Ford failed to stop and led officers onto Milford-Harrington Highway and eventually to Bloomfield Road, where he eventually stopped for a brief moment before he proceeding through a nearby field, said Masten. Police terminated the pursuit at that point.

Masten said that police determined Gregory Painter, 37 of Milford, was the alleged operator and a warrant was obtained for his arrest.

On 05.21.2018 at approximately 5:18 am, Painter was observed in the area of Milford-Harrington Highway and Bloomfield Road.

He was taken into custody without incident with the assistance of the Delaware State Police.

Painter has been charged with Disregarding a Police Officer Signal, Failure to Stop At a Red Light, Unreasonable Speed, Passing In No Passing Zone, and Failure To Signal. He was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #7, where bail was set at $2700.00 unsecured.

Painter is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on 06.01.2018 for a Preliminary Hearing.
