New Castle County Police have arrested 46-year-old Lynn “Deszi” Harris with the murder of 47-year-old Oletha Willingham in the community of Wilton.
On Monday, May 7, at approximately 2:30 a.m., New Castle County patrol officers were dispatched to the unit block of Carleton Ct for a check on the welfare. Police located Oletha Willingham inside the residence with what appeared to multiple stab wounds.
During the course of the investigation, police were looking for the victim’s 2007 black Ford Edge and Lynn “Deszi” Harris who was known to the victim.
Today, May 9, at approximately 11:00 a.m., New Castle County detectives located the black Ford Edge in the 400 block of W 30th Street in Wilmington, Delaware 19802. The black Ford Edge was towed to New Castle County Police Headquarters where it was processed for evidence.
Detectives then located Lynn “Deszi” Harris in a residence in the 2200 block of N Tatnall Street. He was taken into custody without incident and transported by ambulance to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives recovered evidence implicating Lynn “Deszi” Harris in the murder of Oletha Willingham, according to police.
Lynn “Deszi” Harris was charged with felony murder in the first degree, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony and possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited. He is currently awaiting arraignment.
