At around 10:30 last night crews from the Wilmington Fire Department, along with St. Francis EMT’s and Wilmington Police responded to 5th and Madison, in Wilmington, for reports of a shooting.
Responding crews reported that they were evaluating one patient and that they would advise on the other patient or patients.
Shortly after crews responded to that incident a second call came in asking firefighters to respond to 5th and Monroe for another shooting. It’s unclear if this was as shooting or if it was part of the first incident.
It’s believed that at least two patients were transported to the hospital. One of the patients may have been suffering from emotional shock after witnessing one of the shootings.
It’s unclear if anyone was killed during either of the incidents.
Reports from the scene indicate that one of the patients may have been in a moving car when struck by gunfire. This would be the third shooting incident in two days involving a moving car.
