Criminal Investigations At Firefly Festival Lead To Multiple Arrest

Florida man found in possession of 27 cell phones

Throughout Friday night (June 15th) and into the early morning hours of Saturday, June 16th, the Dover Police Department was notified of several cell phone thefts as the result of pick pocket suspects being in the large crowds. One victim who had her phone taken was able to track the phone using the “Find my iPhone” app. Officers from the Dover and Delaware State Police Departments were able to track the phone to William Rodriguez (34) and took him into custody, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.

Hoffman said Rodriguez was found to be in possession of 27 cell phones at the time, including the victim’s phone that was left on and was able to be tracked. Rodriguez has been charged with three counts of theft under $1,500 with additional charges pending. Investigating officers are working to identify owners of the remaining phones and contact their owners.

Rodriguez, who is from Miami, FL, was committed to JTVCC in default of $3,000 cash bond.

Police officer injured while trying to make arrest at Firefly Festival

 

The Dover Police Department is arrested a 24-year-old South Carolina man on Friday evening after fleeing from officers during a counterfeit merchandise investigation, said Hoffman. Undercover officers observed Hassan Mceachin selling counterfeit Firefly t-shirts in camping Lot 2, according to Hoffman. When they attempted to make contact with Mceachin, he fled on foot. Officers were able to take Mceachin into custody, but he continued to struggle, causing minor injuries to a Dover officers’ left arm, according to Hoffaman. Mceachin was found in possession of 37 counterfeit t-shirts, $850 in cash/proceeds, and one gram of marijuana, added Hoffman.

Mceachin was committed to JTVCC in default of $18,400 bond on the following charges:
-Assault 2nd Degree (Law Enforcement)
-Trademark Counterfeiting
-Resisting Arrest with Force or Violence
-Possession of Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia

Two Ohio men arrested on drug charges at Firefly Festival

The Dover Police Department arrested two men from Ohio after they sold ecstasy to undercover officers in Firefly Music Festival’s Camping Lot 2, according to Hoffman.

Hoffman said Zachary Williams (23) and Edward Hartmann (21) were arrested after Williams sold 1.4 grams of ecstasy to an undercover officer. Officers then conducted a search of the suspects vehicles and located 33 grams of ecstasy, 4.6 grams of cocaine, 1.1 grams of marijuana, and a digital scale, said Hoffman.

Both Edward Hartmann and Zachary Williams was released on $142,300 unsecured bond on the following offenses:
-Delivery of MDMA/Ecstasy
-Possession of MDMA (Tier 5)
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine
-Conspiracy 2nd degree
-Possession with Intent to Deliver MDMA
-Possession of Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia

Man arrested on drug charges at Firefly Festival

 

The Dover Police Department arrested a 23-year-old Virginia man on drug charges after selling amphetamine pills to an undercover Dover police officer, according to Hoffman.

Hoffman said Shakir Styles sold 3 amphetamine pills to an undercover officer in Firefly camping lot 2. When officers attempted to take Styles into custody, he attempted to flee and threw a bag containing more pills, said Hoffman. The bag was picked up by another subject and was unable to be located. Styles was taken into custody and found with seven marijuana cigarettes (6.5 grams).

Styles was committed to JTVCC in default of $7,500 secured bond on the following charges:
-Delivery of Amphetamine Pills
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana
-Tampering with Physical Evidence
-Resisting Arrest
-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Police: Man found in possession of 200 doses of LSD at Firefly Festival

The Dover Police Department arrested Parris Hearn (27) of Norfolk, VA on Saturday afternoon on drug charges during an undercover operation at the Firefly music festival grounds. Hearn was contacted by police a result of a drug investigation and was found to be in possession of 200 doses of LSD. Hearn was committed to JTVCC in default of $5,000 cash bond on the following charges:

-Possession with Intent to Deliver LSD
-Possession of LSD (Tier 3 Qty)

Police: Man found in possession of LSD, Mushrooms, Brass Knuckles

The Dover Police Department arrested Andrew Arbieto (23), from Alexandria, VA, on drug charges following an undercover drug investigation, according to Hoffman.

Hoffman said Arbieto sold an undercover officer LSD and Psilocybin mushrooms. After Arbieo was taken into custody, he was found in possession of 30 doses of LSD and 32 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms, brass knuckles, and 9mm ammunition, according to Hoffman. Arbieto was committed to JTVCC in default of $12,500 cash bond on the following offenses:
-Possession with Intent to Deliver LSD
-Delivery of LSD
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Psilocybin Mushrooms
-Delivery of Psilocybin Mushrooms
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Possession of LSD (tier 1)
-Possession of Ammunition by Person Prohibited
-Carrying a Concealed Dangerous Instrument (brass knuckles)
