New Castle Exxon Robbed At Gunpoint, Troopers Investigating

New Castle – The Delaware State Police are investigating the armed robbery of a New Castle gas station that took place overnight, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 1:24 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the Exxon gas station located at 261 S. DuPont Highway, New Castle. A black male suspect entered the business and approached two employees at the sales counter. The suspect then displayed a handgun and demanded cash. Both victims complied with the suspects demand by turning over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then exited the business and fled the parking lot in a blue two door vehicle with an unknown registration.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’3”-5’5”, 140-150 lbs., wearing all dark clothing and in possession of a silver handgun.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Troop 2 Robbery Unit at 302-365-8566.
