Newark Police Officer Watches As Motorcycle Slams Into SUV

Just after 3:00 this afternoon, Monday, June 4, 2018, rescue crews from Aetna, Hose, Hook and Ladder, along with Newark Police and New Castle County were dispatched to motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle.

A Newark Police Officer, on routine patrol, witnessed a motorcycle slam into the back of an SUV near the The Shoppes at Louviers on Paper Mill Road in Newark.

The officer immediately called for an ambulance, while reporting that the rider was injured and down in the roadway. Later reports indicate that the rider conscious and alert.

The rider was transported to the hospital by Aetna ambulance crews with undetermined injuries.

Trooper 4 (Delaware State Police Aviation), originally dispatched to the scene, was recalled.
