Reports: Search On For Hit-And-Run Driver That Struck Woman In Newark

Just after 2:40 this afternoon, Friday, June 15, 2018, rescue crews from Aetna, Hose, Hook and Ladder, along with New Castle County Paramedics, Newark Police Offices and Trooper 4 (Delaware State Police Aviation) responded to the intersection of Elkton Road and Casho Mill Road for reports of a pedestrian struck.

Early reports indicate that upon arrival, crews found a woman suffering from injuries sustained when a vehicle struck the bicycle she was riding.

Crews worked to treat the patient on scene before transporting her to Christiana Hospital via Aetna ambulance (A-7), with New Castle County Paramedics accompanying.

Initial reports indicate that the striking vehicle fled the scene.

Newark Police are currently investigating.
