Newark – On the afternoon of June 9, 2018, Newark Police received information as to the possible location of Frederick Baynes in Philadelphia, PA, acording to Lt. Andrew Rubin.
Rubin said Newark Police Detectives coordinated efforts to locate Baynes with the Philadelphia Police Department. Baynes was subsequently taken into custody in a parking garage in the northwest section of Philadelphia by Philadelphia Police on June 9th.
Baynes is being held in Philadelphia pending his extradition to Delaware where he will face one count of Robbery 1st Degree, said Rubin.

Newark – On Friday afternoon, June 8, 2018, at about 3:38, a male suspect entered the M & T Bank, located at 550 Suburban Drive in the Suburban Plaza Shopping Center in Newark. The male suspect approached a female teller, displayed a handgun, and demanded money, according to Lt. Andrew Rubin. The teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect fled the bank. No one was injured during this incident.
Newark Police Detectives responded to the scene and conducted an investigation. Based upon their investigation, which included interviews, review of surveillance video and other investigative means, the suspect was identified as Frederick Baynes, said Rubin. An arrest warrant was issued on June 8, 2018 by Justice of the Peace Court #2 charging Baynes with Robbery 1st Degree.
Baynes is a black male, 51 years-of-age, 5’7” and 210 pounds. His last known address is in Philadelphia, PA.
