At approximately 1:20 this morning, New Castle County Paramedics, Talleyville, Claymont, Brandywine Hundred, Holloway Terrace Fire Companies, Delaware State Police helicopter were dispatched to the intersection of Naaman’s Road and Ebright Road for a motor vehicle crash with multiple patients, according to Paramedic First Class Yvonne Russell.
Russell said upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found 6 patients. The first patient, a 22-year-old female, suffering from injuries to her face, arm, and back. The patient was transported via Brandywine Hundred Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in serious condition at the time of transport.
The second patient, a 22-year-old female, suffered injuries to her face, chest, and knee. The patient was transported via Holloway Terrace Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in stable condition at the time of transport.
The third patient, a 24-year-old male, suffered injuries to his face and hand. The patient was transported via Talleyville Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in stable condition at the time of transport.
The fourth patient, a 25-year-old female, suffered injuries to her shoulder, leg, and ankle. The patient was transported via Claymont Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in serious condition at the time of transport.
The fifth patient, a 25-year-old male, driver of the motorcycle, suffered injuries to his arm, chest, and knee. The patient was transported via Claymont Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in critical condition at the time of transport.
The sixth patient, a 51-year-old female, suffered injuries to her leg and abdomen. The patient was transported via Delaware State Police helicopter. The patient was in critical condition at the time of transport.
Initial radio reports indicated that six patients were transported and one person had possibly passed away at the scene. It appears that New Castle County paramedics were able to save the patient that command had reported as being a fatality.
All patients were transported to Christiana Hospital.
Delaware State Police is investigating the crash.

Brandywine – Just after 1:15 this morning rescue crews from the Talleyvile Fire Company, along with New Castle County Paramedics, Delaware State Police and Trooper 4 (Delaware State Police Aviation) responded to Naamans Road in the area of Ebright Road for reports of a vehicle accident with multiple serious injuries.
While en route crews were advised that one person may have died in the accident.
Upon arrival, crews immediately requested additional ambulance and medic crews to the scene. Command reported a total of seven patients, one of whom was possibly dead at the scene, according to radio reports.
Command advised dispatch that multiple patients were seriously injured and that crews were working to extricate one of the patients form a vehicle.
At 1:34 crews alerted dispatch that they had freed the trapped patient from the vehicle.
Life-Net (Christiana Hospital’s helicopter) was alerted but not utilized.
Several patients in their twenties were sent to Christiana Hospital’s Trauma Center with serious injuries.
One of the vehicles involved in the accident was a motorcycle. The rider was also transported to the trauma center.
