July 4th is right around the corner, here is a list of events to celebrate Independence Day in 2018 throughout Delaware.
New Castle County
Hockessin
In Hockessin, you can catch a neighborhood relay race, a parade, an all day festival featuring food trucks and a beer garden, as well as fireworks in the evening.
When: July 4th, 2018
Relay Race starts at 8:30 am
The festival starts at 2 pm and runs until 9 pm
The parade starts 3 pm
The fireworks will be set off at dusk
Where:
The relay race is at the Hockessin Library at The Piedmont Fields 1023 Valley Rd, Hockessin, DE 19707
The festival can be located in the gravel triangle behind the Hockessin Fire Department (intersection of Old Lancaster Pike and Millcreek Rd at 1225 Old Lancaster Pike)
The parade is routed through the Old Lancaster Pike
Firework viewing areas include Swift Park, Piedmont Baseball Fields, Hockessin Library and Artesian Soccer Fields
Middletown
Silver Lake hosts fireworks at dusk.
When: Visitors may enter the park at 6 pm and fireworks will start at dusk on July 4th, 2018

Newark
Newark is hosting a festival with great food, entertainment including fun booths and live music, as well as a fireworks and pyrotechnic show.
When: July 4, 2018. Catch the festival from 6 pm – 10 pm.

July 4 at the Wilmington Riverfront 2
Wilmington Riverfront
Visit the Riverfront to celebrate the Fourth with a stunning fireworks display along with food vendors and the Delaware Symphony Orchestra.

Riverfront Activities will be held throughout the day

Dover

Dover has plenty of activities that you and your family can enjoy this fourth of July, including a historic scavenger hunt, the national bell ringing ceremony, food and craft vendors, free children’s activities, a Fourth of July parade, a dance band, and fireworks.

The scavenger hunt is from 9 am- 6 pm
The Bell ringing ceremony is at 2 pm
Craft vendors run from 4 pm- 10 pm
Kids activities are from 5 pm to 9 pm, and the fireworks start at dusk

Smyrna/Clayton
If you are looking for a great parade a fun baby contest, and great fireworks, then visit Smyrna-Clayton for a fun time for the whole family.
