Troopers: Grown Man Robs Teenager At Wilmington Walgreens

Wilmington – The Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a Canby Park area pharmacy that took place Wednesday night, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 8:58 p.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at the Walgreens pharmacy, located at 1900 Maryland Avenue, Wilmington. The suspect approached a 16-year-old female employee at the sales counter and proceeded to make a purchase. As the employee was completing the transaction, the suspect demanded money from the register, while positioning his hand on his waistband, implying that he had a weapon, according to Austin.

The employee complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash. Once obtaining the money the suspect exited the store and was last seen fleeing on foot towards the Canby Park Shopping Center. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect was described as a white male, 35-40 years of age, 5’9”-5’10”, 160-180 lbs., wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark shorts. The suspect never actually displayed a weapon.
