Troopers Update Shooting At New Castle Motel

New Castle – The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred last evening, according to Director of Public Information, Sergeant Richard Bratz.

Bratz said the preliminary investigation has determined that on Friday, July 13, 2018, at approximately 6:18 p.m., troopers responded to the Best Night Inn located at 1200 West Avenue, New Castle where a 30-year-old male victim was located with gunshot wounds to the upper and lower extremities.

The victim was removed from the scene and transported by EMS to a local area hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. No suspect information could be provided at this time.

This incident remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit. Breaking Report

New Castle – Just after 5:30 this afternoon, Troopers with the Delaware State Police, along with New Castle County Police and Paramedics responded to the office of a motel located in the 1200 block of West Avenue, for reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, police located one patient with at least two gunshot wounds.

That patient is en route to the Christian Hospital Trauma Center.
