Troopers: Dover Man Shot In The Torso During Drive-By Shooting

Dover – The Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred late last evening, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the incident occurred on Friday, August 17, 2018, at approximately 11:39 p.m. when Troopers were dispatched to a residence on the 1300 block of Rose Valley School Road, for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, Troopers located a 49-year-old male victim, laying in the driveway with a gunshot wound to his upper torso.

Further investigation revealed that unknown suspect(s) drove past the residence and fired multiple shots in the direction of the victim and his wife, who were standing in the driveway in front of the house.

The victim was removed from the scene and transported by EMS to a local area hospital where he is being treated for his injuries, according to Jaffe. The victim’s wife was not injured as a result of this incident. No suspect information could be provided at this time said Jaffe.

This incident remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit.
