Why Delaware State Police Helicopter Was Circling Over New Castle Last Night

New Castle – Last evening, just before 9:00 Delaware State Police began receiving reports of a robbery at a gas station on Route 13.

Initial reports indicate that ambulance crews and paramedics were also dispatched to the scene.

As Troopers were searching for the suspects they began to receive reports of an additional robbery in the area.

In the video below you can see the perimeter Troopers set up around the area. (Notice the several patrols vehicles in the lower right)

Trooper 4 (Delaware State Police Aviation) circled the area as they assisted the ground units in their search for the suspects.

Two people were taken into custody at around the same time the search was underway but it’s not clear if those arrests were connected to the search.

We will release more information regarding the robberies and the arrest as it becomes available.
