Newark Dumpster Catches Fire Two Days In A Row

Newark – Just after 1:30 this afternoon, September 5, 2018,  firefighters with Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder, along with crews from the Christiana Fire Company responded to 57 South Main Street for reports of an outside fire.

Upon arrival, crews reported that a dumpster was on fire with possible exposure to a building.  The firefighters, under the command of Aetna’s Chief Andrew Bowerson, brought the fire under control within minutes of their arrival.

Firefighters responded to this same location yesterday for an identical fire in the area of the dumpsters.

Fire Marshals have responded to the scene.

We’ll update this story as more information becomes available.
