Police: Woman Reported Lewd Act By Man On James F. Hall Trail In Newark

On Tuesday, September 4, 2018, the Newark Police Department responded to the James F. Hall Trail, between Manuel Street and Academy Street, for a reported indecent exposure/lewdness complaint, according to Sgt. Gerald Bryda.

Bryda said a 34-year-old female reported that at approximately 8:30 a.m. while she was biking on the trail, she observed a white male who appeared to be masturbating in the tree line. The suspect was described as a white male, 35 to 50 years old, 5’7” to 5’08”, heavy build, with dark colored hair, a beard or unshaven, wearing a light-colored shirt and light-colored pants, possibly a hat and glasses, standing in the trees off the trail.

The victim continued on her way and reported the incident after she returned home. Officers checked the area on foot and were unable to locate the described suspect. There are no surveillance images available.
