Three Hit By Train, One Dead Two Others In Critical

Georgetown – Georgetown Police are currently investigating a crash involving three subjects who were struck by a train near the 600 block of North Bedford Street in Georgetown, according to Detective Joey Melvin.

Melvin said at approximately 12:44 this morning, Sunday, September 16, 2018, Officers with the Georgetown Police Department were dispatched to the railroad tracks behind the 600 block of North Bedford Street.

Officials believe that a Carload Express train traveling northbound struck three subjects, killing a female, who was pronounced dead at the scene, and badly injuring two males. Both males were transported to the hospital in critical condition, said Melvin.

The area where the three were struck is not a car crossing so it’s unclear how the three were struck. Melvin said that all three were adults and were not in a vehicle.

The names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
