Troopers: Gunfire Erupts Outside Home Full Of People Labor Day Morning

Hartly- The Delaware State Police are investigating an incident in which several shots were fired at a residence, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the incident occurred on Monday, September 3, 2018, just after midnight when Troopers were dispatched to a residence in the 2000 block of Slaughter Station Road for a report of shots being fired.

Upon arrival, Troopers made contact with a 54-year-old Felton man who was in his vehicle in the driveway of the residence.

Troopers are reporting that the man was approached by two male subjects before he maced by one of them. The second suspect then began shooting towards the residence, according to Jaffe.

Further investigation revealed that several shots were fired towards the residence, striking the exterior siding.

During this incident, there were 10 people inside the residence. The occupant’s ages ranged from 2 months old to 67.

Jaffe said that two of the individuals were not permanent residents at the house.

No one was injured as a result of this incident.

The suspects could only be described as two black males who fled the scene on foot.
