Troopers Investigating Shots Fired Into Elderly Couple’s Home

Magnolia– The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a shots fired complaint in which a residence was struck, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the incident was reported on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at approximately 10:00 a.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the 900 block of Peachtree Run for a report of a residence being struck by gunfire.

Upon arrival, troopers contacted a 77-year-old male resident who advised that at approximately 1:00 a.m. he heard several loud bangs that appeared to be gunshots. It was not until later that morning when the victim discovered a bullet hole through one of his windows. Also in the residence during this incident was the victim’s 73-year-old wife and their 23-year-old grandson. Neither of the residents sustained injuries.
