High School Football Player Airlifted To AI DuPont, Community Asking For Your Support

Glasgow – During yesterday’s High School football game between Concord High School and Hodgson Vo-Tech a Concord junior varsity player was seriously injured.

The player reportedly sustained a serious neck injury during the game, according to a statement released on a Gofundme page yesterday.

“The Concord Family would like to raise money for Jacob’s family to help with his Medical bills and other expenses. It would mean a lot if you could help Jacob and his family in any way you could.”, read the statement.

It was just before 5:30 pm when rescue crews from the New Castle County Paramedics, Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder, along with Trooper 4 were alerted to an unresponsive player on the football field.

Upon their arrival, the patient was responsive to the medics treating him on scene, according to New Castle County Paramedics Spokesman David McKinney Jr.

McKinney did not discuss the nature of the patient’s injuries, however, he did say the boy was stable for the flight to AI DuPont.
