Police: Newark Man Drives Himself To Hospital After Being Shot

New Castle County Division of Police is currently investigating a shooting that occurred at the Elms Luxury Apartments in Newark. Yesterday afternoon, October 16, 2018, at approximately 4:25, officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the unit block of Coventry Lane for a shooting that had just occurred, according to police.

Officers learned that a 51-year-old man drove himself to an area hospital after being shot. He is currently in stable condition.

Detectives from the New Castle County  Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived on scene and have assumed the investigation. There is no suspect information at this time, according to authorities.

This is an active and ongoing investigation and more information will be forthcoming.
