Two Injured In New Castle Motorcycle Accident

At approximately 1:20 yesterday afternoon, New Castle County Paramedics and Christiana Fire Company were dispatched to the intersection of Fantail Court and Springfields Boulevard in Monterey Farms for a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle, according to Paramedic First Class Yvonne Russell.

Russell said upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found 2 patients. The first patient, a 33-year-old man, the driver of the motorcycle, suffered injuries to his head, leg, and back. The second patient, a 28-year-old woman, a passenger on the motorcycle, suffered injuries to her leg and back.

Both patients were treated on scene and transported to Christiana Hospital via Christiana Fire Company ambulance, accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. Both patients were in stable condition at the time of transport.

Russell said the driver was wearing his helmet at the time of the crash. She did not mention if the woman was wearing a helmet.

New Castle County Police Department is investigating the crash.

Authorities have not released details regarding this accident at this time.

It’s unclear if another vehicle was involved in this accident.
