Wilmington Police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred in the 200 block of S. Franklin Street at approximately 1:36 this morning.
This is an on-going investigation.
The victim, identified as DWAYNE WRIGHT, 38-years old, of Wilmington succumbed to his injuries.
Wilmington Police responded to S. Franklin Street for a ‘shots fired’ complaint and found Wright suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers and medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, however, those efforts were unsuccessful.
A second male victim, 44-years old, responded to the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. He is in good condition.
