Firefighters Respond To Newark House Fire Overnight

Newark – Just before 1:40 this morning firefighters from Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder, along with crews from the Christiana, Cranston Heights, Minquas, and Mill Creek Fire Companies responded to the unit block of Kollman Drive for reports of a residential structure fire.

While en route crews were told that family members may still be in the home.

Upon their arrival, crews reported fire showing from the home and that all of the residents were out of the home.

Within 10 minutes of their arrival crews reported that all visible fire had been knocked down.

Within 20 minutes of their arrival Command placed the fire scene under control.

Delaware State Fire Marshals responded to the scene and are investigating the cause of the fire.

No reports of injuries or the number of residents displaced at this time.

Crews from Middletown, New Castle County Paramedics and the University of Delaware Ambulance (UD1) also responded to the scene.
