Motorcycle Accident Sends One To Hospital By Air, Traffic Backed Up for Miles

Smyrna – At 4:48 Wednesday afternoon rescue crews from the Citizens Hose Company of Smyrna, along with Kent County County Paramedics and Trooper 4 (Delaware State Police Aviation) responded to South DuPont Blvd at Brenford Road for a vehicle accident involving a motorcycle.

While en route to the scene, crews learned that a vehicle and a motorcycle had collided in the southbound lanes and one person was injured.

Upon arrival, crews requested the estimated time of arrival of Trooper 4. They also notified dispatch that the patient would be airlifted.

At 5:05 pm Trooper 4 landed at the scene and within minutes was en route to the Christiana Hospital in Stanton with the patient.

Officials have not released details of the crash or the nature of the patient’s injuries at this time.

Traffic on Route 13 was backed up all the way to Middletown while crews worked to cleared the accident, according to our readers.
