Yesterday afternoon, at 12:22, New Castle County Paramedics and personnel from the Holloway Terrace, Minquadale and Wilmington Manor Fire Companies were dispatched to the 4000 block of New Castle Avenue, for a serious motor vehicle crash.
Paramedic Senior Corporal David McKinney, Jr. said Arriving County Paramedics found a multi-vehicle crash, with patient confined to the wreckage. Fire department personnel worked quickly to free the patient. A 21-year-old male was evaluated on scene for injuries to the head and back. He was transported to the Emergency Department at Christiana Hospital on board an ambulance from the Holloway Terrace Fire Company, accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics.
A 21-year-old female was also evaluated for injuries to the head, chest, pelvis, and leg. She too was transported to the Emergency Department at Christiana Hospital on board an ambulance from the Wilmington Manor Fire Company, accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. Both patients were stable at the time of transport. One other patient was transported to the Emergency Department at Christiana Hospital on board an ambulance from the Minquadale Fire Company for evaluation of non-serious injuries.
State Troopers were on scene and are investigating the crash.

New Castle – Just after 12:20 this afternoon, rescue crews from the Hollaway Terrace Fire Company, along with New Castle County Paramedics responded to the 4000 block of New Castle Avenue for reports of a crash with injuries.
Details regarding the accident are few but it is believed that the vehicle went airborne and struck a utility pole head-on, bringing the pole down.
The driver of the vehicle is en route to the Trauma Center at Christina Hospital in Stanton. The passenger is also en route to the hospital.
