Camden – The Delaware State Police Troop 3 Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing to investigate a single vehicle crash that occurred early Saturday morning which has claimed the life of a Hartly man.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:57 a.m., Saturday, November 24, 2018, on Willow Grove Road, just west of Steeles Ridge Road, in Camden-Wyoming. A 2002 Chevy Trailblazer operated by William E. Clough, 35, of Hartly was traveling westbound on Willow Grove Road, at an apparent high rate of speed, when he lost control on a curve at which time the vehicle began spinning, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin. The Chevy continued to spin and traveled off the north side of the road before overturning, causing Clough, who was unrestrained, to be ejected from the vehicle, said Austin.
Clough was transported to Kent General Hospital with life-threatening injuries but ultimately succumbed to those injuries and was pronounced deceased on Sunday, November 25.
Willow Grove Road was closed for approximately 3 hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
