The Delaware State Police have identified the name of the individual who was killed in a crash on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, on U.S. 13 North DuPont Highway at Jerome Drive as John E. Lowman 3rd, 42 of Kenton, Delaware.

Cheswold, Delaware- The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash that occurred late last night, according to Director of Public Information, Sergeant Richard Bratz.
Bratz said the incident occurred on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at approximately 11:20 p.m. when a 2006 Ford F-150 was traveling northbound on U.S. 13 North DuPont Highway south of Cheswold, Delaware. The F-150 was in the right lane approaching the traffic light at Jerome Drive directly behind a Tour Bus. The Tour Bus was traveling northbound on North DuPont Highway in the right lane approaching the traffic light at Jerome Drive in front of the F-150. The bus was slowing for the red light and almost stopped when the F-150 drove into the rear of the bus in the right lane. The Tour bus continued northbound and stopped in the right lane just south of Jerome Driver. The F-150 pickup truck rotated slightly counterclockwise and stopped facing in a north easterly direction in the right lane behind the bus in the area of the impact.
The operator of the Ford F-150, a 42-year-old male from Kenton, Delaware, was not wearing his seat-belt. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Identification of the victim is pending notification of next of kin and extended family.
The operator of the Commercial Tour Bus, 47-year-old male of New York was not injured in the collision. The bus was carrying four passengers traveling to Chinatown in New York City. None of the passengers were injured in the collision and were released from the scene.
U.S. 13 North DuPont Highway in the area of the crash was closed for approximately four hours while the investigation was completed and the roadway was cleared.
