The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating last night’s fire in Millsboro, Delaware that destroyed an apartment building under construction, according to Chief Deputy State Fire Marshal Harry Miller.
Miller said the blaze, reported shortly after 9:00 pm, occurred at the Carillon Woods apartment complex located in the 34000 block of Harvard Avenue near the intersection of Route 24 and Route 5. The Indian River Fire Company arrived on the scene with flames shooting from the four-story building.
State fire investigators are currently on the scene searching for the fire’s origin and cause. The building was under construction and was designed to house 30 units.
Heavy fire damage was estimated to exceed $1,500,000. There were no reported injuries. This fire remains under investigation.
