Happening Now: I-95 SB Shut Down Due To Serious Crash, Person Trapped

New Castle – Rescue crews and Delaware State Police have responded to I-95 SB just north of the I-295 off-ramp for a vehicle crash with entrapment.

A vehicle has slammed into equipment being used by road crews on the side of the highway.

Crews are working to extricate at least one patient.

One person has been transported to the Trauma Center at Christiana Hospital in serious condition.

Two other patients were also transported to the hospital. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

Update: 11:27 Crews are working to pick up their gear. One lane of the highway will be reopened. All other lanes will remain closed as Troopers investigate this very serious crash.

Update: All lanes have been closed again. All traffic is being diverted off the highway.
