Kirkwood Highway Shut Down Due To Five Vehicle Crash, Multiple Injuries Reported

Wilmington – Last night, Sunday, December 2, 2018, at 9:03 rescue crews from the Mill Creek Fire Company, along with crews from Cranston Heights, New Castle County Paramedics, and Delaware State Police responded to Kirkwoood Highway in the area of Limestone Road for an injury accident.

Upon arrival, crews reported that the accident was on Kirkwood Highway in the area of St. James Church Road and that the crash was on both sides of the road.

Command reported that five cars were involved in the accident and at least three, possibly four ambulances would be required.

At least two patients were transported to the hospital.

A black truck was heavily damaged after it crossed over into oncoming traffic, according to a witness at the scene.
