Lincoln- The Delaware State Police have arrested a Lincoln man for assault and other related charges after holding his girlfriend and their 1-year-old child against their will, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.
Jaffe said the incident occurred on Sunday, December 2, 2018, when Troopers were dispatched to the 8700 block of West Clogg Drive for a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, a female was able to escape through theĀ front door and advise Troopers that her boyfriend, 32-year old Emmanuel Vazquez-Gomez, was armed with a knife inside the residence with their 1-year-old child, according to Jaffe.
Troopers attempted to have Vazquez-Gomez exit the residence at which time he refused. Subsequently, Vazquez-Gomez surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.
Jaffe said it was learned that Vazquez-Gomez had threatened to kill the victim and held her and their son against their will for most of the day. The victim sustained multiple injuries including several cuts from knives, added Jaffe.
The victim was transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The child did not sustain any injuries.
Vazquez-Gomez was transported back to Troop 4 where he was charged with the following:
