Newark Police Searching For Additional Victims, Suspect In Custody

This morning, January 29, 2019, at about 3:00, Newark Police took a suspect into custody after he was caught entering a vehicle on Lynley Lane in the Jennys Run neighborhood in Newark, according to police. Based on the property found in his possession, police believe there maybe additional victims in the Jennys Run, Hunt at Louviers, and Woods at Louviers neighborhoods in Newark.

Anyone who believes that their vehicle may have been entered overnight in the Newark area, regardless of whether there was forced entry or there was property taken, is asked to call Cpl. Craig of Newark Police at (302) 366-7111.

Shortly before officials released this information this morning, police officers were dispatched to another report of a ransacked vehicle. It’s not clear if that report is connected to this suspect.

Officials said additional information, including the details of this incident, will be released at the conclusion of the investigation.
