Officials: Two-Year-Old Girl Fell Into Backyard Pond In Stanton, Father Performed CPR

On January 13, 2019, New Castle County paramedics, along with Millcreek Fire Company responded to the 4000 block of Ethel Circle in Wilmington Delaware for a reported drowning with CPR, according to Senior Corporal Ruoy Koontz.

Koontz said upon arrival, a two-year-old female was found in the house awake and crying. The child’s father reportedly found the girl in a pond in the rear of the residence and performed CPR for a short period of time.

The patient was transported to the A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children by Millcreek Fire Company, accompanied by paramedics from New Castle County in stable condition.

Reports from the scene indicate that the child was acting normal when rescue crews arrived on scene.
