County Police Release Few Details Regarding Rivers End Shooting

Officials with the New Castle County Police released a brief statement this morning, acknowledging that a shooting had occurred Thursday evening.

“On Thursday, February 24, 2019, officers from the New Castle Division of Police were dispatched to the unit block of South Cedar Creek Court in the community of Rivers End for a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, a single victim was located inside the residence and was determined to have a single gunshot wound to the lower extremities.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived on scene and assumed the investigation. This is an active and ongoing investigation.”

Officials did not address the circumstances of the incident or the condition of the victim.   It’s also unclear if a suspect has been identified.

Breaking Report

Earlier this evening, rescue crews, along with New Castle County Police responded to South Cedar Creek Court in Bear for reports of a shooting.

Initial reports from the scene indicate that one person has been shot in the leg.  That patient was transported to the Trauma Center at a local hospital.

Police are reportedly searching for a suspect.

Update: Possible home invasion.
