State Trooper Reportedly Struck And Dragged On Kirkwood Highway, Vehicle Fled Scene

At around 1:45 this afternoon Delaware State Police reported that the traffic lights at Kirkwood Highway and Farrand Drive were malfunctioning and dispatched a Trooper to the scene.

Within minutes a Trooper arrived and reported that the lights were on flash and asked for assistance from DelDOT.

Initial reports from the scene indicate that just before 2:00 p.m. the Trooper was struck and dragged while directing traffic at the intersection.

The Trooper was transported to Christiana Hospital where they are receiving treatment for their injuries.

A search is underway for the striking vehicle.
