Troopers: New Castle Cell Phone Store Robbed At Knifepoint

New Castle – The Delaware State Police are investigating the knifepoint robbery of a New Castle area cellular phone store that took place late Monday afternoon, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 4:05 p.m., Monday, February 18, 2019, at the Metro PCS store located at 210 New Castle Avenue. A male suspect with his face concealed and brandishing a knife confronted an employee at the sales counter and delivered a note demanding money from the register, said Austin. The employee complied with the demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect who then exited the business and was last seen on foot in a northbound direction. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect was described as a white male, 5’8”-5’10” tall, 150-160 lbs., wearing a dark hooded jacket, light colored pants and a cloth covering his face.
