Police Confirm 13-Year-Old Was Shot Near Brandywine Park, Few Detail Released

Wilmington Police are investigating a shooting incident that took place in the 2200 block of Baynard Boulevard shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.

A 13-year-old male victim was located and transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Wilmington Police are investigating the shooting of a teenager near Brandywine Park.

Just before 9:30 last evening, Saturday, March 16, 2019, Officers responded to the 2100 block of Baynard Blvd, near the intersection of 21st and Washington, for reports of a shooting, according to reports from the scene.

Rescue crews from the Wilmington Fire Department, medics and Delaware State Police Aviation (Trooper 4) were also dispatched to the scene.

While en route rescue crews learned that police were on scene and reporting that a 13-year-old had been shot.

Shortly after crews arrived on scene Trooper 4 was recalled and the teen was rushed to the trauma center, according to reports from the scene.

Police have not released details of the shooting.
