Firefighters Respond To Two Fires In Wilmington Manor This Afternoon

Wilmington Manor – Just after 2:00 this afternoon firefighters from the Wilmington Manor Fire Company, along with crews from the Delaware National Guard’s Station 33 have responded to 1507 New Jersey Avenue, Hampton Walk Apartments, for reports of an outside fire.

Upon arrival, crews are reporting that someone set a Gazebo on fire in the center off the complex.  Fire marshals have been requested. This is the second fire that both departments have responded to this afternoon.

The first incident involved a tractor-trailer fire at 401 S Dupont Highway. That fire, reported just after 12:30, closed the road in both directions while crews worked to bring the fire under control. Fire marshals are also investigating the cause of that fire.
