Just In: Troopers Investigating School Bus Crash In Greenwood, Road Closed

Greenwood- Just after 8:00 this morning rescue crews from the Greenwood Fire Company, Bridgeville Fire Company, Delaware State Police (DSP), Sussex County Medics and Trooper 2 (Delaware State Police Aviation) were dispatched to 28241 Hog Range Road for reports of a school bus crash.

While en route crews learned that four children and a driver were on the bus at the time of the accident. Upon arrival, crews reported that the bus was off the roadway and into a ditch.

Trooper 2 and additional medics responding to the scene after everyone on the bus was evaluated for injuries. Initial reports from the scene indicate that one child was transported to an area hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries.

A second bus dispatched to the scene transported the remaining students to the school with medical crews from the Bridgeville Fire Company accompanying.

The Delaware State Police released a statement that said they are investigating a crash involving a school bus that occurred this morning at approximately 8:07 a.m. on Hog Range Road, south of Cattail Branch Road.

DSP Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe said injuries have been reported as a result of this crash. Motorists should expect delays in the area and are asked to seek alternate routes of travel.
