Police have made an arrest in the brutal attack of a woman at Perdue Farms in Milford, a story only First State Update (FSU) brought you last week.
A Milford Police (MPD) investigation into a serious assault that occurred between 1:00 and 2:00 Wednesday morning, April 17, 2019, in the parking lot of Perdue Farms in Milford has resulted in an arrest, according to MPD Spokesman Detective Timothy Maloney.
After we contacted MPD on Wednesday, Maloney told FSU that officers responded to the factory’s parking lot after receiving a call that the victim had been seriously assaulted by an unknown suspect.
First State Update learn early that Wednesday morning that the woman had been transported from the scene to Bay Health Sussex suffering from multiple stab wounds to her face, hands, and leg. Maloney later confirmed that the woman was transported and was listed in stable condition. She was later transferred by air to the Trauma Center at Christiana Hospital.
Maloney said through investigation, Detectives were able to identify a suspect in this case who has been identified as Kevin L. Kimbrough, 37. of Frederica.
A warrant was then obtained for Kimbrough’s arrest and today, April, 23, agents with the U.S. Marshals Service First State Fugitive Task Force apprehended him in the 1600 Block of Bay Road in Milford.
He was later turned over to MPD and was formally charged with Attempted Murder 1st Degree, Attempted Carjacking 1st Degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon During The Commission Of A Felony, and Unlawful Imprisonment 1st Degree. Kimbrough is also facing 2 court capiases for his arrest from prior incidents, according to police.
He was arraigned through the Justice of the Peace Court 2, where he was committed to the Department of Correction in default of $622,000.00 USC cash bail. Kimbrough was also issued a no-contact order with the victim and Perdue Farms, Inc.
He was ordered to appear in the Kent County Court of Common Pleas at a later date for a preliminary hearing in connection with this investigation.
