New Castle Gas Station Robbed At Knifepoint

New Castle – Police are investigating the armed robbery of a gas station that occurred last evening.

The incident occurred on May 18, 2019, at approximately 8:33 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the BP Gas Station located at 1 Jay Drive, New Castle, for a report of a robbery that had just occurred.

The investigation revealed that a single suspect had entered the business and brandished a knife to an employee at the sales counter, according to DSP Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe. The suspect demanded the clerk open the cash register. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the scene on foot. The employee was not injured as a result of this incident.

The suspect was described as a black male, wearing dark colored clothing, shoes and mask.
