Dear Newark Charter School Community-
After an extensive and thorough search, it is with great pleasure that the Board of Directors of Newark Charter School announces the appointment of Dr. Frank A. Newton as our next School Director effective July 2019.
Dr. Newton brings a wealth of experience in education. He has spent the last 25 years with the University of Delaware taking on increasing roles of responsibility including Acting Vice President and Chief of Staff in the Office of the President, and most recently, as the Associate Dean for Administration and Operations, College of Health Sciences.
Dr. Newton has been an active member of the NCS community as a parent, a public and vocal advocate, and most recently as the Board of Directors Chairperson. Dr. Newton brings a breadth of knowledge in strategic planning, relationship building, organizational effectiveness, management proficiency, business acumen, and overall leadership, which will all help advance the mission and vision of our school well in to the future.

When I think of Newark Charter School, I know there is no better example of the power of strong administrative leadership and of a community with a passion for the educational success of all students. I am fully confident that through collaborative team work and innovative thinking, we will continue to foster an amazing and transformational institution,” Newton said.
This appointment comes at the conclusion of a comprehensive search conducted by a Search Committee made up of board members, parents, faculty, staff and community members. The committee received over 60 candidate applications from our local community and across the nation. Our deepest gratitude to each member of the Committee for their tireless efforts and continued dedication throughout this entire process. In addition, we would like to thank you, our NCS community, for your engagement, support and feedback during this very important time.
