Newark – The Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a Newark area Wells Fargo Bank that took place Wednesday afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:40 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at the Wells Fargo branch, located at 2624 Capitol Trail, Newark. A male suspect entered the bank and upon making contact with the teller he produced a note demanding money while implying that he was armed with a handgun. The teller complied with the demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect who then exited the business and was last seen on foot towards S. Meadowood Dr. The teller was not injured as a result of the incident.
The suspect was described as a black male, 6’00” tall, 150-180 lbs., wearing all dark clothing to include a baseball style hat.

Newark – Just after 2:30 this afternoon Delaware State Police responded to the Wells Fargo located at 2624 Capitol Trail (next to the IHOP) for reports of a robbery.
An army of Troopers and County Police have responded to the scene.
Troopers are currently investigating.
