17-Year-Old Dies After Motorcycle Crash In Dover

The Dover Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle crash that took the life of a 17-year-old on Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 12:39 PM, Ryan Bundschuh of Felton, DE was operating a 2007 Kawasaki ZX6 motorcycle on Garrison Oak Drive in the Garrison Oak Technology/Business Park off of White Oak Road, said M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.

Bundschuh was performing a “wheelie” (riding with the front wheel off of the ground) while riding northbound on Garrison Oak Drive. The motorcycle then struck a curb on the edge of the roadway, ejecting Bundschuh off of the motorcycle and striking a pole.

A friend that was with Bundschuh called 911 immediately. Bundschuh was transported to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries as a result of the crash.
